    Johnson & Johnson Proposes $5.5 Billion Settlement

    Johnson & Johnson has proposed a $5.5 billion settlement to resolve litigation over claims that its talc products caused ovarian cancer. The agreement requires participation from lead plaintiff firms representing at least 95% of claims in U.S. courts. The company, which denies wrongdoing, has faced around 76,000 lawsuits and ceased sales of talc-based baby powder in the U.S. in 2020.
