    The ongoing solicitors' strike in Louth, which began in mid-June, continues to disrupt court proceedings as the August holiday period starts. Lawyers are protesting a new flat-fee payment scheme for criminal legal aid. Many court cases have been adjourned, and some defendants have been issued bench warrants for non-appearance. The next district court sittings are scheduled for September.
