    Nama to shut down after 16 years

    The National Asset Management Agency (Nama) will be dissolved tonight, 16 years after its establishment to manage Irish banks' property loans. It paid €31.8 billion for loans worth €72.3 billion, leading to significant taxpayer costs. Remaining staff will transfer to the NTMA, with €58 million in cash and €23 million in assets. NAMA facilitated over 44,500 new homes.
