    Religious Equality Act Enforced in Northern Ireland

    On December 1, 1976, the Fair Employment Act and the Industrial Relations Order will take effect in Northern Ireland, promoting equal opportunity in employment regardless of religious beliefs. The Act prohibits discrimination and establishes the Fair Employment Agency to investigate complaints. It also enhances employee rights, including protection against unfair dismissal and improved notice periods for termination.
