    The Football Association has mandated the removal or padding of solid brick or concrete barriers around pitches in the National League System and Women’s National League. This decision follows the tragic death of Chichester City forward Billy Vigar, who suffered a fatal brain injury after colliding with a concrete wall during a match. Clubs must comply by the 2026-27 season.
