    Inquest reveals details of rally driver's death

    An inquest into the death of Eoin McCarthy, a 22-year-old driver who drowned during the Killarney Forestry Rally in February 2022, revealed he was submerged for five to six minutes. Despite CPR efforts, he was pronounced dead at Cork University Hospital. Witnesses noted challenging weather conditions, but Motorsport Ireland officials stated the rally should not have been canceled.
