    Galway County Council has confirmed the construction of a new €3.4 million energy-efficient fire station in Loughrea, set to replace a facility over 50 years old. Managed by Burns Construction & Civil Engineering Ltd, the project will feature multiple bays for fire engines, training rooms, and welfare facilities. It is fully funded by a €328.5 million allocation for fire station refurbishments in Ireland, with a 15-month timeline.
