    On July 12, 2026, Ireland's national anthem, Amhran na Bhfiann, officially celebrates its centenary. Adopted in 1926, the anthem was originally written in English by Peadar Kearney and later translated into Irish. A councillor has proposed including the anthem in school curriculums to ensure future generations know its lyrics and meaning. The anthem has a rich history and cultural significance.
