    According to Maynooth University professor John Sweeney, climate change is increasing Ireland's heatwave temperatures by two to four degrees. Recent heatwaves, reaching highs of 28 to 30 degrees, are not natural and could lead to more extreme weather this summer. A poll shows 61% of people support stronger climate action despite financial concerns.
