    WRC Rules Against Volunteer Dismissal Claim

    The Workplace Relations Commission ruled that Frank Purcell, a volunteer dismissed by the Augustinian Order, has no right to pursue an employment rights claim. Purcell, who volunteered for 16 years, reported gross weekly wages of €0.00, leading the WRC to find no evidence of an employment contract and dismiss his complaint due to lack of legal standing.
