    Tusla reports 10% rise in child welfare referrals

    Tusla has reported a 10% increase in child safety and welfare referrals, surpassing 100,000 for the first time, with 106,444 referrals in total. Emotional abuse was the most common concern, accounting for 45% of cases. The agency also noted improvements in staffing and retention, while demand for services remained high across various categories of care.
