    The Irish government has announced a €1 billion allocation to address rising fuel costs linked to the US-Iran war and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. This includes excise duty cuts on petrol and diesel, reducing prices by 27 and 32 cents per litre. The government claims this measure has lowered inflation by 0.6%.
