    Criminal legal aid solicitors have decided to maintain their withdrawal of services following a nationwide meeting. The dispute with Minister for Justice Jim O'Callaghan escalated after solicitors rejected proposed changes to a new payment scheme. This has resulted in thousands of cases being adjourned, with many solicitors in Dublin refusing to provide services throughout August.
