    Shop price inflation slows to 0.9%

    Shop price inflation in the UK has decreased to 0.9% in July, down from 1.2% in June, according to British Retail Consortium (BRC)-NIQ figures. While food price inflation fell to 2.2%, fresh food inflation rose to 3.1%. Retailers are competing with promotions, but rising costs from employment and global instability pose future challenges.
