    David Lavery has been removed from the Human Rights Commission by Secretary of State Chris Bryant after providing a reference for a convicted child sex offender. Lavery, chief executive of the Law Society, faced controversy for endorsing William Lloyd Lavery, who was sentenced to two years in prison for historical sexual offences. An investigation was launched into his actions.
