    National Maternity Hospital Warns of Private Care Decline

    The National Maternity Hospital has indicated that private obstetric care may cease within a decade due to the retirement of older obstetricians, creating a funding gap. The hospital reported an income of €116 million last year, with 90% from HSE funding. Concerns about staffing and service efficiency have arisen as the majority of consultants are now on public-only contracts.
