    A report reveals that more than 50% of cigarettes consumed in Ireland are illegal, with counterfeit products rising by two-thirds in 2025. Approximately 1.1 billion unregulated cigarettes were smoked, causing over €810 million in lost tax revenue. Illegal factories have been found, and organized crime is impacting legitimate retailers significantly.
