    In 2025, over 10,000 drivers in Britain received penalty points for operating unroadworthy vehicles, according to the RAC. This figure represents a decrease from the previous year. Scotland had the highest number of offenders, followed by London and Yorkshire. The RAC warns that many vehicles remain unfit for the roads, posing risks to all road users.
