    Construction Companies Fined After Worker Death

    Glenveagh Contracting Limited and KDK Scaffolding Limited were fined a total of €190,000 following the workplace death of bricklayer Gerry O’Connell, who fell through a 40cm gap in scaffolding. Both companies pleaded guilty to safety violations under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005. The incident occurred on December 9, 2019, leading to O’Connell's death three days later.
