    RTÉ Faces Financial Challenges and Workforce Reductions

    RTÉ's director general Kevin Bakhurst revealed the station anticipates needing a €60m to €65m government bailout by 2028 due to a 19% drop in licence fee revenue since 2022. Plans include reducing the workforce by up to 400 by 2029 and downsizing its Dublin presence. Concerns over spending and staffing decisions were also addressed during the hearing.
