    Connecticut Home Invasion Murders Conviction

    Joshua Komisarjevsky and Steven Hayes were convicted for the 2007 murders of Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her daughters during a brutal home invasion in Cheshire, Connecticut. The attack lasted seven hours, involving violence and sexual assault. The father, William Petit, survived. The intruders were arrested after attempting to flee. Connecticut later abolished the death penalty for future crimes.
