    Former Mayo Footballer Charged with Serious Assault

    Davitt Neary, a former Mayo footballer, has been charged with assault causing serious harm, alongside his brother Rhys Neary and Paul Dowding. The charges relate to an incident outside a pub in Castlebar on August 23, 2025. A fourth individual, Oran Groarke, faces a charge of violent disorder. The accused are remanded on bail until July 15 for further proceedings.
