    Defence Minister to Visit Lebanon Over Rooney Case

    Defence Minister Helen McEntee plans to travel to Lebanon to address the murder of Private Seán Rooney, the first Irish soldier to die on a UN peacekeeping mission in over 20 years. Rooney was killed in December 2022, and despite a military court sentencing one man to death, there has been no update on the appeal process a year later.
