    DeChambeau Seeks Trump Intervention in Open Penalty

    Bryson DeChambeau requested President Donald Trump's involvement in a rules controversy during The Open after receiving a two-shot penalty. The penalty was imposed for improving his backswing area by flattening grass at Royal Birkdale. Despite being a friend of Trump, his request was denied. DeChambeau finished 14th, six shots behind the champion.
