    BP sells North Sea business after 60 years

    BP has announced the sale of its UK North Sea business, marking the end of 60 years of production. Chief executive Meg O’Neill stated that the business would be better positioned under another company. The North Sea operation produced 117,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day and employs around 1,100 staff, highlighting its significance to the UK's energy system.
