    Benefit fraud in Northern Ireland has decreased by £60 million in one year, according to Communities Minister Gordon Lyons. The total fraud amount for 2025 is reported at £170.9 million, down from £233 million in 2024. The minister attributes this reduction to a zero-tolerance approach and increased public referrals of fraud, which rose by 25%.
