    Virgin Media fined £28m for customer switching issues

    Virgin Media has been fined a record £28 million by Ofcom for obstructing customers from switching providers. The regulator found that the company caused significant difficulties for customers trying to cancel services, including pressure tactics and call mishandling. This fine is the largest ever imposed under consumer protection rules, following nearly 2,000 complaints from affected customers.
