    Twenty Charities Removed from Public Register

    Twenty charities have been removed from Ireland's Public Register of Charities due to a nearly 40% increase in complaints to the Charities Regulator last year. Most complaints were related to governance issues. Many of the removed charities had not filed annual reports and were found to be inactive or disbanded. There are currently 11,500 charities registered in Ireland.
