    Dominic Gallagher, a 35-year-old trainee barrister, faces charges of assault causing harm after allegedly striking two gardaí in Dublin. The incident occurred on July 20, 2026, when Gallagher was confronted for being verbally abusive at a hostel. One officer suffered a tennis ball-sized lump on his forehead. Gallagher was remanded in custody and will appear in court again.
