    Japanese Surfer Killed in Shark Attack

    Tadashi Nakahara, a 41-year-old Japanese surfer, was killed in a shark attack near Ballina, New South Wales. The incident occurred while he was waiting on his surfboard, when a large shark severed both of his legs. Despite attempts at CPR by fellow surfers, he did not survive. The beach was closed as authorities searched for the shark.
