    Simon Harris, the Tánaiste and Finance Minister, appointed Eamonn Sinnott, a former Intel executive, to the Central Bank Commission, fulfilling the board's minimum membership requirement. This appointment required a derogation from government guidelines on state board positions. The Department of Finance stated that Sinnott's experience would enhance the commission's governance capabilities, which was previously below its legal minimum.
