    A gang has been targeting elderly victims, some in their nineties, by posing as police officers to steal money and valuables. The fraudsters cold-called victims, claiming they needed to safeguard their assets from bank fraud. Over £137,000 was stolen during the Covid pandemic, highlighting the vulnerability of older individuals. Sentences of up to five years were handed down to the perpetrators.
