    Public doctors at Rotunda Hospital delivered 49 babies for private obstetricians from 2023 to 2025, receiving payments up to €1,500. This practice has ended, and the HSE was unaware of these transactions. An investigation has been launched following scrutiny over a clause in doctors' contracts allowing private practice in exceptional circumstances, which was reversed after Health Minister's intervention.
