    Water Supply Contamination Risk in Louth

    Over 56,000 residents in Louth are receiving drinking water from supplies identified as at risk of contamination, according to the EPA's 2025 report. The Cavanhill treatment plant, serving over 52,000 people, and the Greenmount plant, serving nearly 4,200, are prioritized for upgrades. Completion of upgrades at Cavanhill is expected by June 2032, while Greenmount's will finish by September 2028.
