    Record Child Safety Referrals in Ireland

    In 2025, Tusla, Ireland's Child and Family Agency, reported a record 106,444 referrals concerning child safety, a 10% increase from the previous year. By year-end, 5,879 children were in care, with emotional abuse being the most reported concern. Tusla expanded services and improved staff retention to 94.5%, while facing criticism for emergency placements following a tragic incident.
