    Norris: Families bear consequences of prison overcrowding

    Justice Secretary Alex Norris stated that victims’ families are unfairly suffering due to the government's failure to build enough prison spaces. This follows an apology to the family of Pc Andrew Harper, whose killers remain eligible for early release. The government plans to create 14,000 new prison spaces by 2031 to address overcrowding issues.
