    Ireland's National Assets Management Agency (NAMA) is closing its doors after 16 years of managing bad loans from the financial crisis. Established in 2009, NAMA aimed to stabilize the banking sector by purchasing distressed assets. It has returned a surplus of €5.6 billion, but faced criticism for its handling of property sales and the burden placed on taxpayers.
