    Social Democrats TD Gary Gannon has compared Minister for Justice Jim O'Callaghan to Margaret Thatcher amid a controversy over new legal aid payments. One hundred Dublin solicitors plan to resign from the Criminal Legal Aid panel in protest against the new flat fee system. Gannon criticized O'Callaghan's unilateral decision, which he claims has caused serious delays in the justice system.
