    Meta abandons renewable energy pledge

    Meta has confirmed its withdrawal from the RE100 initiative, which aimed for companies to source all electricity from renewable sources. This decision comes as Meta expands its data centers and invests in new natural gas power plants. Despite leaving RE100, Meta claims it will continue to invest in renewable energy and has met its clean energy goals since 2020.
