    Man Denies Historic Murder of UDR Member

    James Donegan, a 68-year-old man from Cavan, appeared in Belfast Crown Court to deny the murder of Joseph Porter, a part-time member of the UDR, in June 1979. Donegan also faced charges for possessing a firearm and belonging to the Irish Republican Army. The trial is set to begin on February 8, 2027, with a review on September 18.
