    Justice Minister Agrees to Legal Aid Reforms

    Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan has agreed to reform the criminal legal aid scheme after discussions with the Law Society, following a solicitor strike against a new flat fee. The flat fee of €520 will remain, but payments will be split. Concerns from legal sources remain unaddressed, and a High Court challenge is pending.
