    Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan has agreed to reform the criminal legal aid scheme after discussions with the Law Society. The flat fee of €520 will remain, but payments will be split, with two-thirds paid at the start of a case. A review of the scheme's operation will continue, addressing concerns raised by solicitors.
