    Fire Officer Loses Appeal Over Crypto Loss

    Eamon McShane, a fire officer from Co Donegal, lost an appeal regarding a €1,400 cryptocurrency loss linked to a May 2021 cyberattack on the HSE's system. The Data Protection Commission ruled that the HSE was not a data controller. McShane's appeals to the High Court and Court of Appeal were dismissed, affirming the DPC's decision.
