    In June, UK retail sales rose by 1.9% year on year, driven by a 5.1% increase in online sales as consumers sought relief from the heatwave. Sales of electric fans and paddling pools surged, while in-store non-food sales fell by 1.1%. The World Cup also contributed to increased spending, particularly in hospitality sectors during match days.
