    Since January 2026, 100 fatalities have been reported on Ireland's roads. Social Democrats spokesperson Aidan Farrelly criticized the government's lack of action, highlighting a nearly 40% decrease in Garda Road Policing personnel since 2009. Additionally, there has been a 50% rise in hospital admissions for brain injuries among children linked to e-scooter accidents. A Cabinet meeting is scheduled to address these issues.
