    Ex-Southern Water Chief Charged with Fraud

    Matthew Wright, former CEO of Southern Water, has been charged with conspiring to defraud the Environment Agency and Ofwat by manipulating water quality tests. Along with three others, he allegedly created artificial no-flow events to avoid penalties exceeding £45 million. The case will proceed at Medway Magistrates’ Court, with potential prison sentences of up to 10 years if convicted.
