    Ireland will introduce new e-scooter regulations mandating helmets, registration, and raising the minimum age from 16 to 18. This decision follows a rise in serious injuries, especially among children, with 30 cases of traumatic brain injuries reported from June 2024 to May 2026. The European Transport Safety Council supports stricter standards for e-scooters across the EU.
