    The British Horseracing Authority has reviewed false start controversies at the Cheltenham Festival, proposing tougher penalties for jockeys and introducing walking starts. With false starts rising from 18% in 2022 to nearly 40%, new measures will focus on two and two-and-a-half-mile races. Full implementation is expected by the 2026-27 season, with ongoing consultations to refine the rules.
