    Boy behind 'Dáithí's law' receives heart transplant

    Dáithí Mac Gabhann, a nine-year-old boy who campaigned for changes to Northern Ireland's organ donation laws, has received a heart transplant after being on the waiting list since 2018. His family expressed gratitude to the donor's family. The new organ donation law, named 'Dáithí's Law', was implemented in June 2023, establishing an opt-out system.
