    Ireland's greenhouse gas emissions from buildings fell in 2025, with residential emissions down 5% and commercial by 3.5%. However, the Climate Change Advisory Council warns that this progress is insufficient to meet future climate targets, projecting significant exceedances in emissions ceilings for 2026-2030. Urgent action is needed in retrofitting homes and expanding renewable energy.
